Welcome to the Awbury Arboretum’s online collections!
This important project would not have been completed without the support of our staff, volunteers, and neighbors, as well as the many donations of photographs we have received over the years. Thank you!
We particular thank and remember Gay Gilpin Johnson, whose passion, commitment, and tireless service to Awbury Arboretum and her community was and will continue to be an inspiration. Generations of Arboretum staff, Board members, volunteers, and visitors have been the beneficiaries of Gay’s grace, generosity, and quiet determination, especially in support of the archives.
The purpose of this portion of the Awbury Arboretum archive’s website is to allow the public to search, view and order images available in our archives, and access information associated with them. To use this portion of the website, there are several options.
Begin Searching Archives
You will be directed to the “Keyword Search” page. Enter one or more search terms related to Germantown businesses, personal names, locations etc should you know any, and then click “Search.” You will then be given a list of results. We have found that this is generally one of the most effective search tools available on this portion of the website.
You may also search by using the “Click and Search” button found on the “Keyword Search” page. You can also search by alphabetical listing your topic of interest, or title. For example, should you be interested in all photographs of or associated with the Francis Cope House, search under “F.”
For more detailed searches, use the “Advanced Search” button.
