The Arboretum grounds are open dawn to dusk, 365 days a year.
COVID-19 Precautions: the Cope House and the Arboretum offices are closed until further notice, as well as the Education Center in our Agricultural Village, except by special appointment.
In the meantime, the meadows, gardens, and grounds of Awbury will remain open daily from sunrise to sunset, and, as always, free. We welcome you to continue to enjoy the beauties of spring and nature that the Arboretum provides.

Our offices are located in the Francis Cope House.
Office hours Spring through Autumn: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Office hours January thru March: Tuesday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
On Saturday and Sunday, guests are welcome to visit the Arboretum; please note that there is no weekend access to the buildings, except for special events or by arrangement.
There may be times, particularly in the evenings and on weekends, when the Cope House is rented for private functions. When this is the case, we welcome visitors to enjoy the many other areas of the Arboretum, including the picnic area by the Washington Lane train station and the adjacent meadow.
If you are visiting with a group of ten or more people or are interested in reserving a space, contact the office at (215) 849-2855 x10 during office hours or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Visiting during the winter? Please note that our offices follow the Philadelphia School District’s schedule regarding winter weather closings, including delays. In case of a closing, you are still welcome to visit the grounds, which are always open dawn to dusk. Please note that the parking areas may not be plowed.
While your admission is free, your experience at the Arboretum will be truly priceless. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and members, we are able to make our Arboretum accessible to everyone. Please consider donating to Awbury here.
Awbury is dog-friendly! Owners, please be sure to keep your dogs leashed and clean up after them. Please also keep dogs out of the garden beds.
