The Painting of Paul DuSold
Paul DuSold
On View
August 29th – October 30th, 2024
My artwork is best described as atmospheric representationalism. Still life, figures in landscape and portraits are my preferred subject matter. I’m influenced by sixteenth and seventeenth century Italian and Spanish painters; I am perhaps, most informed by the use of oil paint as an expressive medium by the Venetian artists of the sixteenth century. The primary aspiration of my efforts is to paint pictures whose effect of meaning is achieved through a very acute balance of color, light and shadow and scale of forms.
