Tours & Maps
Awbury Arboretum is a 56-acre property that includes walking trails, historic homes, and an agricultural village. The landscape reflects the English Picturesque style with extensive lawns and meadows, rolling hills, and open vistas framed by groves of trees and shrubs. The Arboretum is specifically designed to look “natural” by several prominent landscape architects, including William Saunders. The property includes a pond, watercourse area, and a walled garden that is now referred to as the Secret Garden. The homes, besides the Francis R. Cope House which is currently used as the Arboretum Headquarters, are privately owned and therefore are not open for viewing.
