Slow down, Relax, Rest and Restore inside of the parlors the Francis Cope House. We will be using blankets, blocks, bolsters to allow our bodies to recover from a long day. Bolsters, blankets, yoga blocks and blankets are provided.

Restorative yoga is suitable for practitioners of all levels. By definition, restorative yoga is a restful practice that holds yoga poses (asanas) for a longer duration using props like yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga—the union of body and mind. Through the use of props for support, many of the postures are held almost effortlessly.

Location: Francis Cope House, 1 Awbury Road. Parking available.

Instructor: Megan do Nascimento is the wellness coordinator at Awbury, breast cancer survivor and yoga instructor known for her outgoing personality and inclusive teaching style. She has taught in the Philadelphia prisons, the school district, Unite for Her, Jefferson Hospital, Visions for Equality and at various gyms in the area.
