Winter Tree Identification Hike
February 18 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Don’t let the cold weather keep you indoors! Join us for a tree identification hike with Grant Folin, Awbury’s Landscape Manager.
Learn to look at tree shape, bark, buds, and branching structure to identify a variety of trees on Awbury’s grounds. Leaves are often considered the easiest way to identify trees but as the saying goes, “leaves can lie. Winter is a great time to build tree identification skills”.
We will begin in the Cope House where we will discuss terminology and review key identification questions. Then we’ll head outside to put our new skills to the test. We will finish up in the Cope House with time for Q and A.
