Late summer is a great time to visit Awbury Arboretum, a 56 acre green spot located in Germantown in Northwest Philadelphia. The Arboretum is an eBird hotspot with over 50 species recorded. This hike will be led by the Feminist Bird Club of Philadelphia. All individuals are invited to join the hike. We hope you’ll join us! Part of 2022: The Year of Birds at Awbury Arboretum
The Feminist Bird Club was founded by Molly Adams in 2016 as a way to leverage both their passion for birds and their passion for social justice into a cohesive whole. Since then, the Feminist Bird Club has expanded to chapters across North America and in the Netherlands. The Feminist Bird Club is dedicated to promoting inclusivity in birding while fundraising and providing a safe opportunity for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC, and women to connect with the natural world.
Bring binoculars if you have them but they are not necessary. Please dress comfortably for a hike.
Ample free street parking is available on Ardleigh St, across from the tennis courts.
