Visit the Cope House Gallery from September 5 – October 28, 2025 for The Far Side of the Sea, an exhibition by Bonnie Levinthal. This exhibition presents a body of work developed through her responses to place, completed both at home and during time spent in Greenland, Svalbard, and Ireland. The paintings and works on paper explore light, weather, color, and atmosphere, using watercolor and acrylic, as well as
processes that involve direct interaction with water, such as cyanotype and suminagashi. The dominant presence of ultramarine blue speaks to distance, depth, and the pigment’s history as a material carried across great distances, mirroring
Levinthal’s own travels to remote landscapes.
