The PHS Community Gardens program supports community gardens with the resources they need to be successful and to donate their produce to Philadelphians in need. PHS provides gardens with organic
seedlings and supplies, workshops, technical assistance, volunteer assistance, access to our tool library and more. The program currently serves over 130 community gardens and urban farms. In 2007, PHS collaborated with Weavers Way Farms to build the greenhouse at The Farm at Awbury. PHS uses this space and other greenhouses around the city to grow and distribute over 250,000 organic vegetable seedlings annually. Community gardeners visit The Farm at Awbury five times each season to pick up seedlings and organic
growing supplies.
