Join us at Awbury Arboretum for a hands-on zine-making workshop exploring fungi, storytelling, and creative expression. Led by an experienced zine artist and educator, this workshop is designed for teens and adults (ages 13+) and offers a welcoming space to experiment, connect, and create.
We’ll begin with an introduction to zines as an accessible DIY medium, using a collection of fungi- and soil-inspired zines to guide discussion. Participants will engage in light movement and a short meditation to spark creative thinking, followed by open-ended time to begin crafting their own zines using collage, drawing, writing, and more.
No prior experience necessary—just bring your curiosity. Art supplies will be provided, and you’re welcome to bring your own favorite materials as well.
Plenty of free street parking is available.
Please note: masks are required while indoors.
This workshop is presented in partnership with the Philadelphia Mycology Club. Come get inspired, get messy, and start a zine of your own!
