Black History: Resistance, Renewal, Resiliency – Goat Walk and the Harriet Tubman Living History Experience
Celebrate Black History Month
with a dynamic afternoon at Awbury Arboretum presented by Awbury, The Philly Goat Project, and Black and Planted, and sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Africana Studies.
Registration is now FULL for the speaker and planting activity, but all are welcome to attend the goat walks – no registration required!
Detailed Schedule:
OPEN – NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED
1:00PM – 1:30PM – Goat Walks at the Cope House – The Philly Goat Project goats will be available for walks around the Cope House, story book reading, goat cuddles and fun.
REGISTRATION FULL
1:30PM – 2:30PM – The Harriet Tubman Living History Experience – Millicent Sparks, Actor, Writer and CEO of Millicent Sparks Productions, Inc. will present her portrayal of Harriet Tubman.
REGISTRATION FULL
2:30PM – 3:00PM Microgreens Workshop – Black and Planted will lead a mini-workshop about healthy greens. Participants will have the opportunity to plant and take home their own microgreens.
