Our Summer Nature Program 2007 was a great success - thanks to our hard working, enthusiastic
Nature Guides and to all of the children and adults that participated!
Information on our 2008 Summer Nature Program will be available in Spring 2008.

Summer
Nature Program 2007
Come visit Awbury Arboretum with your camp or child care program. We offer hands-on nature activities organized around a different theme each week Enjoy a walk, crafts games and nature stories! Choose any or all of the following weeks.
COST
$3.00 per child and adult chaperones are free
$30.00 group minimum
One adult required for every 10 children |

Morning Session: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Afternoon Session: 1:00 PM - 2: 30 PM |

Week
1: July 10-13 |
Pond Survivor : There was a green frog who swallowed a fly... Our pond offers food for the survival of frogs, ducks, turtles, mosquitoes, blackbirds, herons, and people too. |
Week
2: July 17-20 |
Around the World ( in 80 minutes) : Get your passport stamped as you tour the grounds at Awbury. Visit Holland, Norway, Japan, England, Greece, and the Himalayas - right here in Germantown!

3: July 21-27 |
Discover Diversity: Flowers and trees - like all plants - come in many different sizes, shapes, and colors. Observe as nature shows us how a tiny violet and a giant bald cypress co-exist.

4: July 31-Aug 3 |
Beauty and the Beast: Ladybugs, caterpillars, butterflies, and fireflies all change as they grow - just like us. Learn how insects give us apple juice, chocolate, and peanut butter & jelly.

5: August 7-10 |
In the Pizza Garden: Can the sun make Pizza? Touch and smell delicious pizza ingredients, like tomatoes and basil. Learn how to make a solar oven and share the bounty of our community garden. |
Week
6: August 14-17 |
Trash to Treasure: Don't let the trash pile up. We'll recycle junk to make old things new, keep our backyards beautiful, and save the environment too! |
