Celebrate the Summer Solstice: Sculpting en Plein Air

Create original raised relief ceramic tiles with artist Karen Singer.

Creating art is about slowing down, looking, and making choices. Artist Karen Singer will inspire participants to create an original raised relief ceramic tile based on direct observation. In the spirit of the Impressionist painters, Karen will encourage you to trust your eyes, and experience the calm of the creative process.

Each participant will sculpt and paint a 6″ x 6″ tile based on what they choose to look at. All materials are provided, including clay, underglaze, tools, and seating. Tiles will be fired at Karen Singer’s Germantown studio and returned to Awbury for pickup in about 4 – 5 weeks after the workshop.

Bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and an open mind.

Light refreshments will be served. BYO drinks if you wish.

This event is held at the Cope House and tickets are $65.00 per person.
