Dyeing a Silk Scarf – Class

Create a lovely scarf using a natural dye made from the Indigo plant and a form of “tie dye” called Shibori.  Watch the magic as the dark green color changes to blue when the cloth is exposed to air.  Ages 15 and up.  Class limited to 10 students. $20, includes one silk scarf.  This class will be held at the Francis Cope House.

The class is taught by members of the Philadelphia Guild of Handweavers.  PGHW is a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster the art and craft of weaving and the fiber arts. PGHW is located in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia. Their motto is “We learn by doing and grow by sharing.”
