Pollinators on your Plate and in your Glass…….Oh My!  a dinner to buzz about

Please join us for a dining adventure of simply delicious foods brought to us by our pollinators.
We will dine on a sumptuous menu of pollinator driven foods and delve into the fascinating world of our pollinators with a talk by Philadelphia Master Gardener Howard Goldstein.

Roasted Buckwheat Salad with Dried and Fresh Fruit, Leafy Greens, Nuts and Seeds

Howard Goldstein has been a Penn State Master Gardener in Philadelphia since 2010.  Along with a small team of other local Master Gardeners, for the past 8 years he has helped to maintain and develop the Pollinator Demonstration Garden at the Horticulture Center in Fairmount Park.  This garden won  blue ribbons in 2015 & 2016 and a Garden of Distinction Award in 2017 from the PHS (Pennsylvania Horticultural Society) Gardening and Greening Contest.  Howard has had formal college training from Temple University, Ambler Campus and is also an Education Guide at Morris Arboretum.  He specializes in growing native perennials and shrubs.

 

Gail Hinson has a degree in Applied Science with a focus on biology and nutrition.  She is currently a Culinary Educator at Awbury Arboretum and also holds a position with Wakefern Food Corporation as a Corporate Chef.  Chef Gail’s interest is in preparing fresh foods in innovative ways, developing delightful flavor profiles while maintaining the highest nutrient levels possible.
