the cuisine and culture of Argentina

Argentina is a country best known in the culinary world for its beef and wine.

 

First Course – Picada Argentina

 

Our journey begins with a traditional Argentinian finger food presentation called “Picada Argentina.”

 

The Picada Argentina board is an assortment of meats, including deli meats, sausages, turkey, ham, cheeses, marinated/grilled veggies, dried fruit, smoked nuts, pizza bites, olives, tortilla espanola, etc. all meant to be shared and eaten with the fingers.

 

Entree Course – Asada

 

We move on from the Picada Argentina to one of the most important culinary traditions of Argentina- the “Asada”.

 

The Asada is an elaborate presentation of grilled meats (beef in particular), poultry, and/or seafood and grilled vegetables accompanied by an array of traditional sauces and condiments of the country.

 

Postres – Finale

 

A selection of sweet treats and delectable pastries representative of the country and its Native Indian, European, Italian, and Spanish influences.

This event is BYO.

Wine recommendations: Picada: Sauvignon Blanc, Torrontes (white Argentine grape variety, moderate acidity, smooth mouthfeel), sparkling white.  Asado: Bold reds – Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Reserva and Gran Reserva. Dessert: Sparkling wine (dry), Riesling (dry)
