Natural Resource Education Garden

Located along Ardleigh Street at Duval Street, this completely revamped area includes a community garden with 59 plots (8 are handicap accessible beds), and several demonstration plots. The area also includes a compost pile, an underground 500 gallon cistern, and woodland trails that are being replanted with native species.

The project was funded by the William Penn Foundation and the Philadelphia Urban Resources Partnership.

Take a walk through the woodlands and enjoy the newly planted native species. You may spy a bird enjoying a feast of seeds or a squirrel digging up nuts buried earlier. Gardeners have started to turn over their plots and plant vegetables and flowers.
